Giant Radio Quasars: Sample and Basic Properties

چکیده

We present the largest sample of giant radio quasars (GRQs), which are defined as having a projected linear size greater than 0.7 Mpc. The consists 272 GRQs, 174 new objects discovered through cross-matching NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS) and Sloan Digital 14$^{\rm th}$ Data Release Quasar Catalogue (DR14Q) confirmed using Faint Images Radio at Twenty-Centimeters (FIRST) maps. In our analysis we compare GRQs with 367 smaller, lobe-dominated found search method, well from SDSS DR14 Catalogue, investigating parameters characterizing their emission (i.e. total core luminosity, prominence), optical properties (black hole masses, accretion rates, distribution in Eigenvector 1 plane) infrared colours. For smaller find strong correlation between [OIII] luminosity 1.4 GHz, indicating connection conditions narrow-line region. spot no significant differences quasars, however show that most extended belong to quasar population evolved AGNs large black masses low rates. also have bluer W2-W3 colours compared FIRST detections, structure dusty torus.

The radio properties of radio-quiet quasars

Although radio-quiet quasars (RQQs) constitute > ∼ 90% of optically-identified quasar samples their radio properties are only poorly understood. In this paper we present the results of a multi-frequency VLA study of 27 low-redshift RQQs. We detect radio emission from 20 objects, half of which are unresolved (≤ 0.24). In cases where significant structure can be resolved, double, triple and linea...

Radio Properties of Quasars and AGN

We discuss the compact radio sources associated with quasars and AGN with particular emphasis on the implications of their structure and kinematics for relativistic beaming models.

The radio properties of type II quasars

Abstract. Quasars (of type I) are the luminous analogs of type I Seyfert galaxies. Within the framework of unified models of active galaxies, the population of quasars of type II recently discovered with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey are the luminous analogs of type II Seyfert galaxies. Since our knowledge and understanding of the radio properties of these type II quasars are very limited, we ha...

An X–ray selected sample of radio–loud quasars

We construct the first X-ray selected sample of broad line radio-loud AGN from the EMSS survey. In order to test unifying schemes for radio-loud objects, their spectral and statistical properties (both flat and steep spectrum objects) are examined and compared with those of other samples of blazars. The X–ray selection allows us to explore properties of radio–loud quasars 10–100 weaker in the r...

X - ray properties of the Parkes sample of flat - spectrum radio sources : dust in radio - loud quasars ?

We investigate the X-ray properties of the Parkes sample of flat-spectrum radio sources using data from the ROSAT All–Sky Survey and archival pointed PSPC observations. In total, 163 of the 323 sources are detected. For the remaining 160 sources 2σ upper limits to the X-ray flux are derived. We present power-law photon indices in the 0.1–2.4 keV energy band for 115 sources, which were either de...
